| The Importance of a Setting |
It was a time of civil unrest and distrust amongst the planets, the struggle was mainly for power and the need to control other lands and the much debated asteroid field. Battles were mostly fought by Knights, and the planetary guardians themselves. Each battle was long and dangerous, often resulting in mostly civilian causalities. The older generation of senshi watched on in horror at the acts of their off spring, it took the birth of another generation to cause many of the ruling families to rethink their current course of action.
It took that one person to step up to other others and offer their hand in peace; it was from the mind of Neptune that the idea of the treaty was brought to light. From there it took ten more years to bring the bulk of the fighting to an end, for the rulers of the nine planets, and dignitaries from the far reaching worlds meet to sign a peace agreement, An agreement that would be named; "The peace treaty of Thalassa"
But the path for treaty was not an easy one, many disagreements arose; some people wanted this, some people wanted that. Yet not everyone one could have what they wanted so a peaceful neutral was found. Within the treaty it was stated that; the asteroids were formally declared neural territory, any act of war would be seen as a criminal act against the treaty, each planet could not own a territory past their last moon (or if they have no moon, past their environment). With this the representatives agreed and signed it binding all future senshi to this rule.
Fifty years have passed after the Great War; the peace treaty of Thalassa has gone unchallenged by the ruling houses of the planetary alignment. Most of the planets have sense made smaller treaties in order to ease tension and prompt good will.
